How Do We Recover Silver from Those Sources?

In general, recovering silver from those liquids involves introducing other chemicals into them. These added chemicals cause chemical reactions in which the silver molecules they contain to clump together. Because those “clumps” of silver weigh more than the other liquids, they fall to the bottom of the containers where they other liquids remain.

Those clumps, which form a sediment, are physically removed – sometimes, just scooped out and set aside. At other times, additional chemical processes must be used, and sometimes, the sediment is put into centrifuges that separate the silver from other substances.
