Conspiracy Theories About Gold? Just Ignore Them
Conspiracy theories seem to crop up about topics and celebrities that people find fascinating.
JFK? He didn’t really die . . . and conspiracy theorists know he is coming back.
The walk on the moon? . . . it never really happened.
The world’s money supply? . . . it’s all controlled by a secret society that’s headquartered in Switzerland or under the Great Pyramid.
Okay, you can doubtless add more conspiracy theories to that ridiculous list. But we want to add some others of our own to it. They are all conspiracy theories, or at least crazy theories, about gold.
They are all false, and most are crazy. But for your information, there they are anyway.
Vanishing Gold
All the gold that was held in Fort Knox has been secretly stolen and the U.S. Government is covering it up. People really like this one. Conspiracy theorists like any tall tale about secret groups of people who are doing something, well, secret.
Alien Gold
Aliens are shooting gold at planet Earth, and it is piling up everywhere. Actually, there is a tiny fleck of truth to this, because minute quantities of gold really are falling to Earth from space. Lots of other substances and elements are too, also in tiny quantities.
The Hidden Nazi Gold Train
This is more of a fable than a conspiracy theory. It holds that during World War II, the Germans loaded a train with gold and drove it into a tunnel that has yet to be found, deep under a mountain somewhere in Europe. Who knows, it could be true. But since nobody has found this train over the last six-odd decades, it seems doubtful. We could be wrong about that.
Gold Can Be Extracted from Glass Bottles
This idea, which some people believe, holds that if you have the right kind of grinding machines and chemicals, you can start reclaiming gold from glass bottles and become wealthy. The truth is, there might actually be a tiny quantity of gold that can be found in glass bottles (as well as in shale, sand from beaches and other places. But is it going to make you rich? We don’t think so.
The Introduction of Various Chemicals Can Turn Base Metals into Gold
This is a very ancient belief that dates back to Medieval times when alchemists tried to change base metals, as well as the precious metal silver, into gold. Despite the fact that people have been trying to do this unsuccessfully for more than 1,000 years, some people still believe it. And some people are still trying.
Why Not Apply Proven Practices Instead?
Instead of putting your faith in wild theories and beliefs like the ones we list above, why not use proven, practical, and realistic practices to make money in precious metals? The simple fact is that gold (as well as silver, platinum, and other valuable metals) can be extracted from all kinds of scrap.
At Specialty Metals Smelters and Refiners, we are using modern, proven methods to extract gold from all kinds of scrap. It’s not crazy or theoretical, it is proven and practical. Why not call us at 800-426-2344 to learn more?
