Gold, Silver and Platinum Group Metals

There is value hidden in your scrap. Taken together, the Gold, Silver and Platinum Group Metals (Platinum, Palladium, Rhodium) contained in your scrap, waste and used products and equipment represent a lucrative opportunity for your company. Let Specialty Metals help you recycle and refine your precious metal scrap into profit!

Platinum

Platinum is a scarce noble metal, highly resistant to corrosion and generally non-reactive. It is used in the manufacture of dental and lab equipment, jewelry and catalytic converters. Because it is one of the most rare elements on Earth, Platinum is a very valuable precious metal.

Palladium

Palladium has the lowest melting point and lowest density of all the Platinum Group Metals. It is a scarce noble metal, used in the manufacture of catalytic converters, dental and lab equipment, electronics and jewelry. Like Platinum, its rarity makes it a very valuable precious metal.

Gold

For most of human history, gold has been one of the most valuable elements on earth. Gold is a noble metal, one of the least reactive elements and highly resistant to corrosion. It is also a good conductor of electricity. It is used in electronics and wiring, jewelry, dentistry and, of course, as currency and bullion.

Silver

Silver is a noble metal with the highest electrical conductivity of any element. It also has the highest thermal conductivity of any metal, and is an excellent optical reflector. Not only has silver been used as currency, but also it is widely used in jewelry, tableware, electronics, x-ray and other medical and dental films and photographic prints.

Rhodium

Rhodium is a chemically inert noble metal that is resistant to corrosion. It is most frequently used in catalytic converters (in conjunction with its fellow PGM metals Platinum and Palladium). Rhodium is also used in jewelry production, including the plating of white gold and silver.
