Some will even give you a karat rating for the gold you are testing. They make a much-appreciated stocking stuffer for the precious metal investor on your list.
A high-tech magnifier. One good choice is an Amoper loupe magnifier, which is a pretty amazing value for about $20.00. This little pocket-sized magnifying device fits in your pocket. It is made of metal, not flimsy plastic. It has rechargeable batteries that power LED lights that can shine on what you are looking at. It plugs into the USB port of your laptop, but only to recharge its lights, not to upload images. But still, this is an amazingly useful little product for those of us who invest in precious metals.
Gold Rush: True Stories of Adventure in the California Gold Rush by Fred Baumgartner. This book is available as both a paperback ($15.00) and a Kindle eBook ($2.99). It provides plenty of adventurous good reading for the gold hunter you know. The stories are amazing.
Drones for Dummies by Mark LaFay. Although this $15.00 book was published nearly six years ago, it still offers a great overview of making the most of camera-equipped drones. Highly recommended.
Gifts for $50.00 - $100.00
A Holy Stone HS110D drone. You can spend hundreds or thousands of dollars on a drone. But you can also buy this one, which costs about $90.00, instead. It’s remarkably full-featured and makes a great gift for a precious metal hunter who has not used a drone in the past. A great way to get started.
A digital microscope. The age of the powerful digital microscope has arrived! And what great devices they are, especially useful for people who want to closely examine and evaluate coins and bullion. Some of these devices plug into a USB port on your computer. Others connect to your phone. Amazingly, some cost $100.00 or less. Just great devices with capabilities that will amaze you.
A safety deposit box. If the precious metal investor on your list hasn’t carefully stored jewelry, precious metal scrap, or other investments, why not visit a local bank and rent a safety deposit box as a gift? Another option? Buy a small fireproof safe as a gift – one that bolts to the floor or to a wall – for safer storage. It’s a thoughtful gift that will be appreciated.
